A bit of context
Da Vinci is an internal project that aims to help BT's 13,000-person IT department to become ‘an IT service provider of choice’. And for those who don't know it BT is short for British Telcom which is a group of companies worldwide focused on telecommunications. For this particular project the team created a Service Design Framework that you can see above.
What I like about it
The one thing that stands out for me in this particular Service Design process is its start with what the authors call "Sprint 0". To me there is real value when you start a service design project with a focused time where all the key stakeholders are brought together for a few days. Indeed such sprints make it possible to create some great momentum, align everyone and get a lot of work done in just one intense week or a few intense days. Obviously, the research work takes then more time and can't be done in the same way.

I found this service design process in a case study called FromHereOn + BT: Da Vinci - Service Portfolio Design at Enterprise Scale published on the Service Design Network website.
